Hi, I’m Michelle! A UX designer and art instructor based in Washington, D.C.
Before transitioning into UX design, my line of work was in food manufacturing and packaging for an e-commerce company. Over the years, I’ve gained skills in every step of the manufacturing process and provided the best quality products to our customers. Packaging and manufacturing may seem different from UX design, but the core principles are very similar. Working together as a team and reviewing feedback, we empathized with our customers and always worked together on making our products accessible and better.
After seven years in manufacturing, I took the leap and made the transition into the creative field. I accepted a part-time role as an art teacher and continued my studies in UX at Designlab.
My students inspire me to create meaningful products that help solve challenges in our daily lives. With the unique set of skills and the passion and drive for creating, I believe that my unconventional background will be one of the greatest assets in my journey.
